Fuenteovejuna is a small town whose residents exist under the rule of a Commander who abuses its people recklessly–– until one woman demands that her countrymen fight back. Inspired by the real incident that took place in 1476, Fuenteovejuna invites us to consider whether we are responsible and willing to protect our neighbors, and to believe in what is possible when a town comes together. This production explored the connection between people and their natural surroundings, and how a place withers as its residents are abused.
